DIY Cheap Halloween Wreath

Supplies

Scissors

Plastic Shopping Bags

Black Yarn

Wreath Wire Hoop

Black Pipe Cleaners

Hot Glue Gun with Glue

Sharpie

Fake Leaves or Burlap

Directions

  • Cut the back out of one plastic shopping bag, as shown below. Place that to the side.
  • Take the remainder of the shopping bag and one other shopping bag and scrunch them together into a ball with a tail. Like this:
  • While still holding the wadded up shopping bags, cover with the cut out side of the shopping bag. Tie with string or yarn to create a neck. I used white yarn but since the yarn will not be visible it doesn’t matter what color you use.
  • Use the remaining yarn left over from tying the Ghost together to attach the Ghost to the hoop.
  • Trim the bottom of the Ghost if necessary.
  • Repeat Steps 1-5 until you have made all the Ghosts and attached them to the wreath.
  • Warm up the hot glue gun and use it to glue fake leaves or burlap all over the visible wire hoop. Glue in at least two places on each leaf to adhere.
  • To make spiders cut 2 black pipe cleaners in half so that there will be 4 pieces of pipe cleaner per spider.
  • Start by winding black yarn around two fingers and then scrunching the yarn together to make a small ball of black yarn.
  • Once a small ball is complete place the pipe cleaners under the ball and continue wrapping yarn around them to create the spider.
  • Tie off the yard around one of the spider’s legs and trim the excess tail of yarn.
  • Repeat steps 8-11 to create as many spiders as you would like for your wreath.
  • Hot Glue each spider onto the wreath.
  • Flip the wreath over and hot glue any loose areas and trim any lose yarn.
  • Once the glue is dry, flip the wreath over and with a sharpie add faces to the Ghosts. (Optional)
